MEASURING AND RANKING COMPETITIVENESS IN AJMAN


The main results of the report on the ease of doing business in the Emirate of Ajman issued by the World Bank for the year 2018 on the level of many indicators as follows:

  • The second in the Arab world and the 14th globally, after it was in the 35th place in 2016, when measuring four main indicators: commercial activity, the issuance of building permits, property registration, contract enforcement and other federal indicators that were calculated from the report of the UAE represented by the Emirate of Dubai.
  • First in the Arab world and fifth globally in property registration, a difference of 2.4 points from the first globally.
  • Fifth place globally in the axis of contract enforcement and progress in the sub-indicator by reducing the time spent in adjudicating commercial cases 42 days from 2016.
  • The emirate has also made remarkable progress in the scores of the commercial activity axis, to be a higher order than the average of the GCC countries. It has also achieved a significant decrease in the cost of starting a business.
  • The axis of obtaining licenses has achieved remarkable progress in the global ranking to be higher than the average of the countries of the Cooperation Council and the average of the high-income Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development countries, and it achieved the first in the Arab world in the sub-index of the time taken to obtain building permits and is considered the fastest in the Arab countries, and the building quality index achieved 11 points While the highest in the world is 15 points.
