General News

As a part of the efforts and activities of Ajman Statistics and Competitiveness Center on the occasion of celebrating the International Workers' Day corresponding to the first of May every year, the Center's staff have contributed 700 Iftar meals, under the initiative of provision of Iftar meals, for the workers in Ajman emirate, in order to promote  the spirit of solidarity embodied by the blessed month of Ramadan with its spiritual and social aspects, which call for association and compassion. The Iftar meals were distributed to the workers at their housing under the supervision of the Coordinating Council for Charity Work and Endowments, in coordination with the General Headquarters of Ajman Police and the UAE Red Crescent Authority, with due consideration to the precautionary and preventive measures imposed by the government  to combat the spread of the novel Corona virus (COVID-19), in order to make a contribution to the consolidation of efforts to confront this pandemic  and to promote the contribution of the community support. This contribution is made under the initiative "People for people", launched by the Coordinating Council for Charity Work in Ajman, which depends on receiving cash and in-kind contributions and logistic support from the individuals and institutions and enabling them to deliver their donations to the proper  destinations via specified channels, which help in mitigating the health and humanitarian implications of the spread of the Corona virus, and then re-distributing the same to  the persons affected by this crisis.

It is worth mentioning that the United Arab Emirates has launched several humanitarian initiatives recently, most prominent of which are the campaign "UAE volunteers" and the 10 million meals campaign, based on the directives of H. H. Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the vice-president, the Prime minister of the UAE, and the ruler of Dubai (May Allah safeguard him). Ajman government highly appreciated the efforts of the National Committee for Regulating Volunteering, in respect of its pioneering initiative on the UAE level (UAE Volunteers), and fully  emphasizes  its fully support to the efforts of the campaign and the volunteers.
