STATITICAL MATURITY INDEX IS LAUNCHED AS PART OF THE ADMINSTRATIVE CENSUS 2020 PROJECT IN AJMAN

The Higher Commission Of The administrative Census and the Higher Commission for the Demographic Structure held their first meeting in 2020, chaired by Sheikh Rashid bin Humaid Al Nuaimi, Director , Department of Municipality and Planning and Chairman of the higher commissions for the administrative census and the demographic structure in Ajman, in order to review and discuss the current status of the administrative census 2020 of Ajman, which aims to establish a central register of population, housing and facilities data to provide high quality data and comprehensive and updated coverage on immediate basis. The project will be executed in accordance with the best and most updated international practices, methodologies and recommendations for implementing the project of the standardized administrative census. Moreover, the manual of statistical maturity index and the challenges of the demographic structure were also reviewed and discussed. The project of the standardized administrative census 2020 is one of the statistical projects of top priority, which Ajman Statistics and Competitiveness Center is preparing and executing according to the plan in 2020, in order to support and provide harmonized statistics of high quality and to establish an updated population register.

 

This meeting was attended by the Commission members, namely; General Sheikh Sultan bin Abdullah Al Nuaimi, commander general of Ajman Police, H.E. Eng. Abdullah Mohammed Al Mowaiji, Chairman of Ajman Chamber, H.E. Mr. Abdul Rahman Mohammed Al Nuaimi, Director general of the Department of Municipality and Planning, Eng. Dr. Saeed Saif Al Matrooshi, secretary general of the Executive Council, H. E. Mr. Ali Issa Al Nuaimi, director general of the Department of Economic Development and H.E. Dr. Hagar Saeed Al Hobaishi, executive director of Ajman Statistics and Competitiveness Center. H. H. Sheikh Rashid bin Humaid Al Nuaimi, Chairman of the Commission launched the index of statistical maturity for determining the extent of maturity of the local government agencies in Ajman. In the same meeting, Dr. Hajar Saeed Al Hobaishi, executive director of Ajman Statistics and Competitiveness Center delivered a presentation on the statistical maturity index, where she addressed the definition, importance, objectives, scope and measurement stages of the index, as well as the criteria of the index, its measurement approach and the levels of compliance with the necessary procedures and the standards of statistical maturity. Moreover, the approach of undertaking the administrative 2020 census  was discussed, through addressing the data collection process from the administrative records of the concerned bodies and generation of statistical indexes and data on immediate basis. Dr. Al Hobaishi also made a presentation on the evaluation of the current status of the administrative census and the most prominent challenges it faces. In addition, the " Population Register System"  was presented, which will be launched soon. This system will provide an opportunity to the society members to have an access thereto in order to enter all of their demographic, economic, scientific and service data. This system is designed in a proper and flexible manner.

 

Humaid bin Rashid Reviews the Endowments Report in Ajman

His Highness Sheikh Humaid bin Rashid Al Nuaimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Ajman, reviewed a statistical report on the status of endowments in the Emirate of Ajman. The session was held in the presence of His Highness Sheikh Ammar bin Humaid Al Nuaimi, Crown Prince of Ajman and Chairman of the Executive Council. The report, prepared by the Ajman Statistics Center in collaboration with relevant entities, was presented by Dr. Hajar Al Habishi, Director General of the Ajman Statistics Center. It included comprehensive statistics on the types of endowments, their value, and generated revenues. The report aims to highlight key endowment-related statistics by collecting and analyzing relevant data, standardizing classifications across concerned authorities, and supporting strategic planning for the development of endowment projects within the emirate.

Sheikh Ammar bin Humaid praises Ajman's achievement in obtaining the ISO certification for Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) Sustainability.

Sheikh Ammar bin Humaid Al Nuaimi, Crown Prince of Ajman and Chairman of the Executive Council, praised Ajman’s attainment of the ISO certification for Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) sustainability. His Highness emphasized that the Emirate's adoption of the new ISO standard reflects its commitment to providing a modern urban environment aligned with the highest global standards, achieving a balance between economic, social, and environmental development. He added, "This achievement underscores Ajman's dedication to establishing solid foundations for growth and prosperity, with a focus on utilizing globally recognized and reliable indicators to measure and track sustainability progress. It also directs policy priorities through the lens of a smart, sustainable, and resilient city." H.H. the Crown Prince of Ajman received Dr. Hajar Saeed Al Hubaishi, Director General of the Ajman Statistics and Competitiveness Center, at his office in the Ruler’s Court. Dr. Al Hubaishi presented the details of Ajman's adoption of the new ISO standard for cities. The announcement of Ajman’s ISO certification was made during the Global Council on City Data (GCCD) conference, held at Toronto City Hall in Canada, with significant participation from leading cities and regions worldwide. Dr. Hajar Al Hubaishi stated that this milestone reflects Ajman’s commitment to becoming a leader in governance-based statistical indicators to ensure a prosperous and sustainable future. She added, "Ajman’s adoption of the new ISO standard for cities marks a pivotal step in our journey toward achieving sustainable development. She further emphasized that the center is taking all necessary measures to implement the new standard in line with the Emirate's aspirations to achieve sustainable development and strengthen its position as a global leader in applying environmental, social, and governance standards.
