Ajman Statistics & Competitiveness Center and Ajman University signed a memorandum of understanding for the purpose of cooperating in preparing scientific studies and researches related to social, environmental and economic topics, sharing knowledge, experiences and expertise in the area of social services and providing scientific and professional consultancies in the different topics.

The memorandum of understanding was remotely signed via Zoom software by Dr. Hajar Alhubaishi, the executive director of Ajman Statistics & Competitiveness Center and Dr. Karim Al Sagheer, the chancellor of Ajman University.

Dr. Alhubaishi said that this memorandum is signed in implementation of the initiatives launched by the Center during the celebration of the World Statistics Day. She expressed her pleasure with this constructive cooperation that embodies the mutual desire to share experiences and data and promote the technical capabilities of both parties, in order to achieve the objectives, goals, visions, policies, plans and strategic programs of each of them.

In this regard, she explained that this memorandum is about the cooperation regarding the initiative, called “ the Academic Lens” launched by Ajman Statistics & Competitiveness Center to promote the studies and researches related to the social, economic and environmental topics aiming to serve the society, in order to upgrade the level of the researches addressing the topic of serving the community of Ajman Emirate. In addition to the initiative of studying the future job skills, which studies and analyzes the future skills of the required jobs to align the educational outcomes with the requirements of the labor market.

In his turn, Dr. Karim Al Sagheer stressed that Ajman University is keen on building strategic relationships with all institutions of the society, in implementation of the wise directions of His Highness Sheikh Humaid bin Rashid Al Nuaimi, member of the Supreme Council, Ruler of Ajman and chairman of the board of trustees of Ajman University, who always calls for consolidating the relationships between the institutions of Ajman Emirate, in order to create an environment of mutual integration, achieve the strategic plans of the Emirate and promote the objectives thereof.

He added “The University always seeks to cooperate with the different entities to achieve the benefit of their personnel and contribute to the building process, data sharing and promotion of the technical capabilities. We are proud of being the first university State-wide that offers the program of bachelor in sciences in data analysis, which aims to provide the labor market with graduates who are competent in the specialization of data science, to work in the various sectors that require dealing with and analyzing data in a professional manner, in addition to the areas of research and development. The launch of this program reflects our interest in keeping pace with the era of information revolution. Moreover, signing this memorandum of understanding supports and promotes the same objective”.

Preliminary estimates of Ajman’s Gross Domestic Product (GDP) for the year 2023, issued by the Ajman Statistics Center, reveal the emirate’s robust economic performance and positive growth rates. The emirate achieved a GDP at current prices exceeding 36 billion UAE dirhams, compared to 33.9 billion dirhams in the previous year, reflecting a growth rate of 6.25%. At constant prices, the GDP reached approximately 32 billion dirhams, compared to 30.5 billion dirhams in 2022, with a growth rate of 4.7%. This performance reflects the wisdom of the economic policies adopted by the emirate and confirms the strength and stability of its economy.

As part of the mutual cooperation to enhance security efforts and to have maximum benefit of the accurate and reliable statistical data, Ajman Statistics Center welcomed a prominent delegation from Ajman Police General Head Quarters.

Dr. Hajar Saeed Al Hubaishi, the Executive Director of Ajman Statistics Center (ASC) , stressed that "Ajman Vision 2030" envisions the future of the emirate with ambitions that exceed the expectations, aiming to achieve a leading position globally in governance and administration fields. She emphasized the commitment to embody the highest standards and practices at the government, societal, and individual levels. This trend not only seeks to achieve social and economic progress but also aligns with the strategic goals of the United Arab Emirates and the Vision 2071 of the UAE. She added, "In our pursuit of embodying this ambitious vision, the role of the ASC emerges as a cornerstone in supporting the march of development and innovation in the emirate, by providing accurate and high-quality statistical data. We are committed to laying solid foundations for strategic planning and making informed decisions, contributing to solidifying the sustainable economic and social development."
