Ajman Statistics & Competitiveness Center Conducts A Training Course On the Competitiveness Practices In Specialized Fields

On 8th & 9th August 2021 , Ajman Statistics & Competitiveness Center (ASCC) conducted a training course on " the competitiveness Practices In Specialized Fields” attended by a large number of government and private sector institutions representatives on both local and federal levels in the United Arab Emirates , particularly those who are concerned with and interested in the competitiveness practices and sustainable development issues. Training and lectures were delivered by Dr. Ashraf Sameer , Professor of Economics , Faculty of Economics & Political Sciences , Cairo University.
The training course addressed several significant topics and issues , including: The conceptual framework of competitiveness practices in specialized fields, competitiveness practices as a success factor for the economic and social policies of the countries, competitiveness strategies in the specialized fields with their impact on the countries’ competitiveness ranking , an analytical view of the competitiveness practices of the United Arab Emirates internally and externally with the lessons learned therefrom. The course also shed light on Ajman emirate competitiveness, especially in various fields , such as education , health , sustainable development , entrepreneurship and foreign investment in addition to other various sectors.
Conducting of this course comes in the context of the efforts exerted by the ASCC to implant principles of competitiveness at the specialized government and private sectors in the UAE for being pillars of the competitiveness that contributed to making the UAE attain the highest international positions in various development domains. The training course was organized by the ASCC in scientific cooperation with each of the "International Competencies" in the United Arab Emirates specialized in sponsoring the growth of social innovation for youth and entrepreneurship, the development of knowledge, skills and financial capabilities necessary to achieve sustainable development, and the "Advisory Center for Trade and Investment Protection" (Hemaya Center) in the Arab Republic of Egypt, which is specialized in providing legal support to the governmental and private sectors through offering consultancies , drawing policies, researches and studies, as well as conducting workshops and training seminars related to sustainability and competitiveness.
Ajman Statistics and Competitiveness Center gives great importance to the existing and internationally approved competitive practices and indicators, whether through the studies and scientific researches it issues, training courses, lectures and workshops it conducts , or through specialized participation with the relevant local and federal government authorities in measuring and analyzing competitiveness indexes , in particular those related to the visions of the UAE and the emirate as well as the government strategies implementing them.

Humaid bin Rashid Reviews the Endowments Report in Ajman
His Highness Sheikh Humaid bin Rashid Al Nuaimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Ajman, reviewed a statistical report on the status of endowments in the Emirate of Ajman. The session was held in the presence of His Highness Sheikh Ammar bin Humaid Al Nuaimi, Crown Prince of Ajman and Chairman of the Executive Council. The report, prepared by the Ajman Statistics Center in collaboration with relevant entities, was presented by Dr. Hajar Al Habishi, Director General of the Ajman Statistics Center. It included comprehensive statistics on the types of endowments, their value, and generated revenues. The report aims to highlight key endowment-related statistics by collecting and analyzing relevant data, standardizing classifications across concerned authorities, and supporting strategic planning for the development of endowment projects within the emirate.

Sheikh Ammar bin Humaid praises Ajman's achievement in obtaining the ISO certification for Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) Sustainability.
Sheikh Ammar bin Humaid Al Nuaimi, Crown Prince of Ajman and Chairman of the Executive Council, praised Ajman’s attainment of the ISO certification for Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) sustainability. His Highness emphasized that the Emirate's adoption of the new ISO standard reflects its commitment to providing a modern urban environment aligned with the highest global standards, achieving a balance between economic, social, and environmental development. He added, "This achievement underscores Ajman's dedication to establishing solid foundations for growth and prosperity, with a focus on utilizing globally recognized and reliable indicators to measure and track sustainability progress. It also directs policy priorities through the lens of a smart, sustainable, and resilient city." H.H. the Crown Prince of Ajman received Dr. Hajar Saeed Al Hubaishi, Director General of the Ajman Statistics and Competitiveness Center, at his office in the Ruler’s Court. Dr. Al Hubaishi presented the details of Ajman's adoption of the new ISO standard for cities. The announcement of Ajman’s ISO certification was made during the Global Council on City Data (GCCD) conference, held at Toronto City Hall in Canada, with significant participation from leading cities and regions worldwide. Dr. Hajar Al Hubaishi stated that this milestone reflects Ajman’s commitment to becoming a leader in governance-based statistical indicators to ensure a prosperous and sustainable future. She added, "Ajman’s adoption of the new ISO standard for cities marks a pivotal step in our journey toward achieving sustainable development. The Emirate is well-prepared to enter a new phase, enhancing its position among leading global cities in sustainable development." She further emphasized that the center is taking all necessary measures to implement the new standard in line with the Emirate's aspirations to achieve sustainable development and strengthen its position as a global leader in applying environmental, social, and governance standards.
