Ajman Statistics and Competitiveness Center sheds light on the “Statistical Maturity Index” in Ajman emirate

As a part of Ajman Statistics and Competitiveness Center's vision and strategy, the Center measures a number of strategic indices based on the resolution of H. H. Sheikh Ammar bin Humaid Al Noaimi, Chairman of the Executive Council, No.9 of 2020, in respect of approval of the fifth package of the strategic indices and objectives of Ajman Vision 2020, including the “Statistical Maturity Index” that is intended to learn about the maturity extent of the government institutions, their awareness on the importance and uses of statistics and extent of application of this index, in order to provide high quality data to be used in decision making process. The Center held an online Orientation workshop on the “Statistical Maturity Index” in Ajman emirate via Microsoft Team application for the government agencies in Ajman emirate and the independent entities. The “Statistical Maturity Index” works on assessing , measuring and following up the level of statistical maturity of the government agencies for developing and issuing official statistics compatible to nature of the recognized international standards and the manuals issued byAjman Statistics and Competitiveness Center The Index targets all agencies of Ajman Government and the independent entities that have administrative records and provide the Center with the required statistical data, where the quality of the administrative records they keep will be assessed as a part of the record-based census project 2020 of Ajman emirate. The significance of this Index is underlined through measuring and assessing the statistical maturity of the government agencies and learning about their interest in the statistical data, in order to achieve effectiveness and efficiency in the data and administrative records sharing system and to provide high quality statistics and indices that support the decision making process and the competitiveness position of Ajman emirate. The key objective of this Index is to enhance the level of statistical information and data sharing, upgrading the quality level of the statistical data generated by the government institutions and to ensure the adherence of the government agencies to the approved quality standards and procedures, in order to provide high quality statistics, as well as to develop and upgrade the statistical capabilities of the staff of the government institutions. Through this workshop, the key criteria of measuring the “Statistical Maturity Index”, its sub-criteria and requirement were highlighted. Moreover, the form of assessing the statistical maturity and the weights of the key elements of the index were introduced. This includes three main criteria, nine sub-criteria and a number of requirements needed to apply the Index, in accordance with the evaluation of the statistical maturity criteria and the auditing mechanism. The workshop also included practical models of the statistical maturity index. The Statistical Maturity Index will provide assistance and support to the government agencies.

Humaid bin Rashid Reviews the Endowments Report in Ajman
His Highness Sheikh Humaid bin Rashid Al Nuaimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Ajman, reviewed a statistical report on the status of endowments in the Emirate of Ajman. The session was held in the presence of His Highness Sheikh Ammar bin Humaid Al Nuaimi, Crown Prince of Ajman and Chairman of the Executive Council. The report, prepared by the Ajman Statistics Center in collaboration with relevant entities, was presented by Dr. Hajar Al Habishi, Director General of the Ajman Statistics Center. It included comprehensive statistics on the types of endowments, their value, and generated revenues. The report aims to highlight key endowment-related statistics by collecting and analyzing relevant data, standardizing classifications across concerned authorities, and supporting strategic planning for the development of endowment projects within the emirate.

Sheikh Ammar bin Humaid praises Ajman's achievement in obtaining the ISO certification for Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) Sustainability.
Sheikh Ammar bin Humaid Al Nuaimi, Crown Prince of Ajman and Chairman of the Executive Council, praised Ajman’s attainment of the ISO certification for Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) sustainability. His Highness emphasized that the Emirate's adoption of the new ISO standard reflects its commitment to providing a modern urban environment aligned with the highest global standards, achieving a balance between economic, social, and environmental development. He added, "This achievement underscores Ajman's dedication to establishing solid foundations for growth and prosperity, with a focus on utilizing globally recognized and reliable indicators to measure and track sustainability progress. It also directs policy priorities through the lens of a smart, sustainable, and resilient city." H.H. the Crown Prince of Ajman received Dr. Hajar Saeed Al Hubaishi, Director General of the Ajman Statistics and Competitiveness Center, at his office in the Ruler’s Court. Dr. Al Hubaishi presented the details of Ajman's adoption of the new ISO standard for cities. The announcement of Ajman’s ISO certification was made during the Global Council on City Data (GCCD) conference, held at Toronto City Hall in Canada, with significant participation from leading cities and regions worldwide. Dr. Hajar Al Hubaishi stated that this milestone reflects Ajman’s commitment to becoming a leader in governance-based statistical indicators to ensure a prosperous and sustainable future. She added, "Ajman’s adoption of the new ISO standard for cities marks a pivotal step in our journey toward achieving sustainable development. The Emirate is well-prepared to enter a new phase, enhancing its position among leading global cities in sustainable development." She further emphasized that the center is taking all necessary measures to implement the new standard in line with the Emirate's aspirations to achieve sustainable development and strengthen its position as a global leader in applying environmental, social, and governance standards.
