Corona (COVID-19) Pandemic Changes the Life Styles and Behaviors of 70% of the Community in Ajman emirate

In the context of Ajman Government’s keenness on the wellbeing and health of the community individuals and following-up their response to the guidelines and precautionary actions taken to curb the virus spread, Ajman Statistics and Competitiveness Center developed and conducted a survey on the novel corona virus (COVID-19) pandemic via the social media channels and text messages in Arabic, English and Urdu languages. One of the survey objectives is to learn about the extent of change in the ordinary daily life practices, as well as to show the psychological and moral dimensions of that pandemic. Since Corona (COVID-19) pandemic affected the life styles and the ordinary behaviors of 70% of the community in Ajman. The findings are in consistence with the high level of awareness of the community, its response to limit the spread of Corona virus, the compliance with the precautionary measures, the availability of firm technological infrastructure of communications and the meaningful initiatives proposed for encouraging the community and its individuals to make use of that and avoiding direct contact. The sample included 1375 community individuals in Ajman emirate, both nationals and expatriates, males and females. It’s worth mentioning that the availability of services online and via electronic platforms or phone calls and launching several initiatives through public and private sectors significantly contributed to the change in the life style and behaviors of the community. Since such facilities enable the purchase of the livelihood needs, making orders to restaurants and getting learning services remotely, as well as telecommuting ( remote working ) and seeking medical consultation and treatment remotely. In addition to communication among the community individuals via video chat and video calls, ability to do exercise...etc., all help in facilitating the acceptance of such life style and practices by the community individuals, without having to get out of home or going to markets, restaurants, schools and hospitals, and avoiding the family visits and being in contact with others. The survey concluded that the high awareness on COVID-19 of the community individuals is attributed to the programs and precautionary actions implemented in accordance with the best practices in the UAE in general and in Ajman emirate in particular, which represent the exemplary global model to be followed. The potentials available also contributed positively to influence the community’s behaviors and life styles, in order to coexist with and prevent this pandemic and to curb its spread. The respondents expressed their thanks and support for the preventive and precautionary measures taken by Ajman Government due to its keenness on the public wellbeing.

Humaid bin Rashid Reviews the Endowments Report in Ajman

His Highness Sheikh Humaid bin Rashid Al Nuaimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Ajman, reviewed a statistical report on the status of endowments in the Emirate of Ajman. The session was held in the presence of His Highness Sheikh Ammar bin Humaid Al Nuaimi, Crown Prince of Ajman and Chairman of the Executive Council. The report, prepared by the Ajman Statistics Center in collaboration with relevant entities, was presented by Dr. Hajar Al Habishi, Director General of the Ajman Statistics Center. It included comprehensive statistics on the types of endowments, their value, and generated revenues. The report aims to highlight key endowment-related statistics by collecting and analyzing relevant data, standardizing classifications across concerned authorities, and supporting strategic planning for the development of endowment projects within the emirate.

Sheikh Ammar bin Humaid praises Ajman's achievement in obtaining the ISO certification for Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) Sustainability.

Sheikh Ammar bin Humaid Al Nuaimi, Crown Prince of Ajman and Chairman of the Executive Council, praised Ajman’s attainment of the ISO certification for Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) sustainability. His Highness emphasized that the Emirate's adoption of the new ISO standard reflects its commitment to providing a modern urban environment aligned with the highest global standards, achieving a balance between economic, social, and environmental development. He added, "This achievement underscores Ajman's dedication to establishing solid foundations for growth and prosperity, with a focus on utilizing globally recognized and reliable indicators to measure and track sustainability progress. It also directs policy priorities through the lens of a smart, sustainable, and resilient city." H.H. the Crown Prince of Ajman received Dr. Hajar Saeed Al Hubaishi, Director General of the Ajman Statistics and Competitiveness Center, at his office in the Ruler’s Court. The announcement of Ajman’s ISO certification was made during the Global Council on City Data (GCCD) conference, held at Toronto City Hall in Canada, with significant participation from leading cities and regions worldwide.
