Ajman Statistics and Competitiveness Center Concludes the Assessment Process for the "Statistical Maturity Index" of the Government and Independent Bodies in Ajman

Ajman Statistics and Competitiveness Center, concluded yesterday, Wednesday, the second edition of the external evaluation stage for measuring the level of the statistical maturity index of the government and independent bodies in Ajman Emirate. This evaluation process was launched earlier this week with the participation of number of specialized experts and evaluators of the index, who held virtual meetings remotely with the officials of the government bodies and department and the independent entities via "Microsoft Team" software. 

 

During the evaluation period, the experts and the evaluators explained to the government and independent bodies that there are great efforts, evident development and concrete maturity on the part of the these bodies with regard to the importance of the statistical data. They added that there is also a development in the level of performance and work of the local government and independent bodies in the Emirate, through their knowledge and keeping themselves regularly informed about the significance of the statistical data, as well as learning about the extent of their interest in the statistical data, in order to achieve effectiveness and efficiency in the system of data and administrative records sharing to provide high quality statistics and indications that can support the decision making process and promoting the competitiveness of the Emirate.

 

Dr. Yasmin Joudi, the technical statistical advisor at the Center and manager of the statistical maturity index project, stated that by the end of the period of the external evaluation for measuring the level of statistical maturity of the government and independent bodies in Ajman Emirate, there is a great optimism about the extent of compliance of the bodies with the standards and requirements of the statistical maturity index, in addition to the paradigm shift and massive development, we notice, in the quality of the administrative records of the government bodies participating this year compared to the evaluation of the first edition of the statistical maturity index last year, according to the meetings held with the local government bodies in the Emirate and the team of specialized experts and evaluators. These outputs will have positive impact on the work of these government institutions, in order to upgrade the statistical work and to provide high quality statistics and indications, which will support the decision making process and promoting the competitiveness of the Emirate.

 

From her side, Dr. Yasmin expressed her thanks for and appreciation to the participant government bodies for their devoted efforts, hard work and notable development in the quality of the administrative records, in accordance with criteria of the statistical maturity index, in order to generate accurate, integrated official statistics that will be available to all, as well as to develop and upgrade the efficiency of the statistical capabilities of the government bodies' staff.

 

Dr. Yasmin also expressed her thanks, appreciation and gratitude to the Center's task team and the experts evaluating the index for the extraordinary efforts they exerted and their diligent and continuous work towards the success of the evaluation of the statistical maturity index and ensuring the compliance of the government bodies with the adopted quality standards and measures. She finally wished success to all.

 

Dr. Abu Bakr Al Amoudi

Dr. Abu Bakr Al Amoudi, the statistical expert and member of the evaluation committee, stated "Through our review of the regulatory and operational framework of the bodies participating in the evaluation process for measuring the statistical maturity index, we noticed that standards of statistical data management are available and in place. This year we have witnessed a development in the competences and capabilities of the data management team. Moreover, there is an advanced technological infrastructure equipped with the best international standards as required for managing the necessary data and the required materials. There are also laws and regulations for protecting data and demonstrating them in the best possible ways to make benefit thereof in the future. As such, this will reflect positively on Ajman Statistics and Competitiveness Center, in order to provide high quality data.     

 
 

Dr. Ma'moun Kassab

Dr. Ma'moun Kassab, the statistical expert and member of the evaluation committee, stated "Through our review of the criterion of the statistical data quality, we found that there is a remarkable change noticed during our meeting with the government and independent agencies in Ajman this year to measure the statistical maturity index, where some agencies reached well-developed, advanced stage in the area of the statistical data quality. This, in itself, provides added value to the efforts exerted by the Centre to ensure the provision of correct data that are in conformity with the common international standards, which will be used by the decision makers for the purposes of planning and work development inside the government and private bodies, the matter that will promote the Emirate's position in regard to the data competitiveness UAE -wide".  

 
 

Dr. Ali Abdul Qader

Dr. Ali Abdul Qader Al Sallaq, the statistical expert and member of the evaluation committee, said "By reviewing the criterion of data availability, we noticed a great development and change witnessed by the evaluated government and independent agencies in Ajman Emirate, compared to the past, in terms of paying attention to and management and governance of the statistical data. There is also a remarkable improvement and maturity on the part of these agnnecies and evident interest in the data and in relying on them as indications of their performance, as well as depending on the same for making decision on the improvement process and procedures".

He added "Getting reliable and high quality statistical data by Ajman Statistics and Competitiveness Center from the partners in the evaluation process, such as the reliability, seriousness, availability and governance of data management, will reflect positively on the Emirate's interests and will serve the decision makers, and will have positive impact at the UAE level as well".

 
 
Ajman Statistics Center Participates in the Data and AI Conference – Europe 2025 in London

An official delegation from the Ajman Statistics Center participated in the Data and AI Conference – Europe 2025, held in London from October 13 to 17, 2025. The event brought together a distinguished group of global leaders and experts in data and smart technologies from around the world. Recognized as one of Europe’s premier specialized events, the conference explored the latest advancements and emerging trends in data management, AI ethics, machine learning, and advanced analytics. Participants also reviewed global best practices in harnessing artificial intelligence to support decision-making and accelerate digital transformation across both public and private sectors. The participation of the Ajman Statistics Center came through an official delegation representing Dr. Hajar Al Habishi, Director General of the Center. This engagement reflects the Center’s commitment to representing the Emirate of Ajman at international specialized forums and to fostering knowledge exchange and collaboration with leading global institutions in the fields of data and statistical analysis. During the event, the delegation was introduced to cutting-edge technologies and innovative solutions in big data analytics and intelligent system development. The team also held side meetings with representatives of several international organizations to discuss potential collaborations and exchange expertise in strengthening statistical infrastructure and promoting data-driven innovation. Dr. Hajar Al Habishi emphasized that the Center’s participation in this global event is part of its ongoing efforts to stay abreast of international developments in data and artificial intelligence. She noted that leveraging global best practices contributes to the advancement of Ajman’s statistical ecosystem and supports the Emirate’s digital transformation and innovation journey in line with the Ajman Government Vision 2030.

Humaid bin Rashid reviews results of Household Income & Expenditure Survey in Ajman

H.H. Sheikh Humaid bin Rashid Al Nuaimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Ajman, in the presence of H.H. Sheikh Ammar bin Humaid Al Nuaimi, Crown Prince of Ajman and Chairman of the Executive Council, reviewed the results of the Household Income and Expenditure Survey in Ajman for 2024 and the first half of 2025, through a detailed presentation prepared by the Ajman Statistics Centre. H.H. Sheikh Humaid bin Rashid Al Nuaimi affirmed that the survey results are a pivotal tool for understanding the living, social, and economic reality, and represent an essential foundation for developing developmental plans that enhance quality of life and support the path of sustainable development in the emirate. The Ruler of Ajman praised the efforts of the Ajman Statistics Centre in preparing studies and surveys that provide comprehensive data reflecting various social and economic aspects of the emirate, in a way that contributes to the development of services, ensures that citizens’ needs are met, and raises their standard of living. The survey aims to provide accurate data on income and consumption patterns in the emirate, enabling policymakers to design balanced development policies and strengthen initiatives to improve the living standards and quality of life of families in Ajman in the coming years. H.H. the Ruler of Ajman also listened to a detailed explanation of the survey results presented by Dr. Hajar Al Habishi, Director- General of the Ajman Statistics Centre. The presentation included comprehensive analyses of quality of life, social and economic well-being in the emirate, and details of spending on education and health sectors, in addition to identifying families’ self-sufficiency thresholds, consumption patterns, and living habits in Ajman. The presentation further included in-depth results on the demographic characteristics of families in the emirate, living standards, income sources, daily living costs, as well as the classification of families by different categories. It also highlighted the needs of some special cases among Emirati families, and presented practical proposals to strengthen a culture of saving and promote financial investment. The survey concluded with a set of recommendations focusing on enhancing social support networks, primarily by empowering low-income families and ensuring they receive their basic needs. The recommendations also emphasized encouraging Emirati families to launch private economic projects by providing incentives and financing programs that support their active participation in the labor market. On a related note, H.H. Sheikh Humaid bin Rashid also reviewed the Marriage and Divorce Report for 2024 and the first half of 2025, which showed a significant increase in the number of marriage contracts alongside a decline in divorce rates — a positive indicator of the stability of family and community fabric in the emirate.

Agreement of Cooperation between Ajman Statistics Center and Al Ittihad Charity Foundation to Enhance Data-Driven Social Impact

As part of strengthening collaboration between government entities and community institutions, the Ajman Statistics Center has signed a cooperation agreement with Al Ittihad Charity Foundation. This strategic step aims to support institutional integration, exchange expertise and knowledge, and leverage statistical data to serve charitable and community initiatives—thereby enhancing the effectiveness of development programs and ensuring a sustainable impact that benefits the local community. The signing ceremony took place at the Ajman Statistics Center headquarters, in the presence of officials from both sides. The agreement was signed by H.E. Dr. Hajar Saeed Al Habsi, Director General of Ajman Statistics Center, and H.E. Hareb Salem Al Aryani, Secretary General of Al Ittihad Charity Foundation. This partnership stems from the belief of both parties in the importance of integrating statistical work with community initiatives, and in the necessity of employing accurate data to support charitable efforts, improve the efficiency of social programs, and allocate resources optimally to achieve maximum positive impact on target groups. The agreement aims to foster cooperation in areas such as exchanging data related to community initiatives, conducting joint analytical studies and surveys, developing tools to measure the social impact of charitable projects, and organizing workshops and training programs to build the capacity of staff in both institutions. On this occasion, H.E. Dr. Hajar Al Habsi emphasized that the agreement reflects the Center’s vision of expanding the use of statistical data to support humanitarian and community-oriented initiatives. She noted that accurate data serves as a fundamental basis for designing more effective charitable programs and for channeling resources to the most vulnerable groups, thereby achieving higher levels of sustainable social impact. Dr. Al Habsi added that Ajman Statistics Center is keen to build impactful partnerships with community institutions in order to exchange knowledge and implement research and field projects that contribute to advancing social development goals and enhancing quality of life. For his part, H.E. Hareb Salem Al Aryani expressed his pride in this partnership, describing it as a qualitative addition to the charitable projects carried out by the Foundation.
