ASC Qualifies the Field Team To Carry out Economic Surveys in Accordance With The International Standards

Ajman Statistics Center (ASC) announced launching the 2022 comprehensive economic survey project next week, covering the industrial, commercial and service sectors. Yesterday, Tuesday , the ASC started mobilizing and qualifying a team of researchers to work on the project by training them on the most advanced technologies for the information and data collection mechanisms for the development of studies and researches according to the international statistical standards adopted by the ASC , in order to enable policy makers and decision takers to incorporate them in the development plans of the Emirate.

Hessa Bin Zayed, project manager, stated that the curriculum of the training course, which started yesterday, Tuesday 26/07/2022, at the City University College of Ajman (CUCA), and will last for four days, includes a number of themes related to the annual economic survey and the distribution of facilities on the economic map on various sectors and activities , determining production values generated from the main activity and the secondary activities, while providing researchers with the most sophisticated technical devices and equipment to help them in monitoring and collecting highly accurate data and information in accordance with the international statistical standards that the ASC is committed to, taking into consideration the compliance with the preventive and precautionary measures to curb the spread of the Corona Virus pandemic. (Covid 19).

She stressed that the comprehensive annual survey project of the economic facilities represents one of the most statistical projects performed by ASC, indicating that it shall supply the Emirate with an integrated and updated economic data base which will satisfy its needs and requirements in this concern, and help the policy makers and decision takers to approve the development plans in the Emirate

Ms. Hessa explained that the statistical survey will cover all the business activities, in the industrial, commercial and service sectors, and will include all the establishments in terms of their number, geographical locations and distribution on the nature of the various economic activities they are involved in , and determine their legal forms in terms of ownership and capital formation in each sector , as well as the salary structure and contract formulas to ensure their financial compensation, in addition to providing detailed data on production, expenditures and value-added account.

Ajman Statistics Center has obtained ISO 21502 certification for Project Management in the Strategy and Institutional Performance Department, as part of its ongoing efforts to adopt international best practices and enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of institutional project management. ISO 21502 is an international guidance standard that provides a comprehensive framework for project management across all phases, from planning through to closure, with a strong focus on achieving objectives and delivering added value with high efficiency. The standard encompasses a range of core principles and practices, including governance, stakeholder management, scope definition, time and cost management, quality, risk management, communication, and resource management. The Center’s attainment of this certification underscores its commitment to standardizing project management methodologies, improving the quality of decision-making, increasing project success rates, and ensuring alignment with strategic objectives. Joint Meetings of the International Statistical Seminar in Taipei 2025

Under the theme “New Horizons: Statistics in a Changing World,” the Taipei Joint 2025 Conference on Statistics and Data Science was organized in partnership between the Institute of Statistical Science, Academia Sinica (ISSAS), and the International Chinese Statistical Association (ICSA), in collaboration with the Chinese Institute of Probability and Statistics. The conference was held in the city of Taipei in December 2025, bringing together the 13th International Conference of the Chinese American Statistical Association and the International Statistical Seminar in Taipei. The conference was attended by a delegation from Ajman Statistics Center, reflecting the Center’s commitment to keeping abreast of the latest global practices and trends in statistics, quantitative analysis, and data science, as well as to strengthening channels of communication and knowledge exchange with international academic and statistical institutions.
